Day 0: Depart USA for overnight flight to Edinburgh, Scotland. Dinner and breakfast served onboard.
Day 1: Arrive Edinburgh this morning and meet our guide, who will show us the major sites, including The Royal Mile & Georgian New Town and Old Town. We’ll tour inside the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the 16th century royal palace and abbey, as well as the modern Parliament building, where the issue of Scottish independence still lives in spite of the vote in 2014. We’ll climb up Calton Hill in a lovely park for amazing views of the city and beyond.  Lunch will be on your own at one of the many pubs and restaurants in the city. We’ll check into our hotel for two nights. We’ll have a group Welcome Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: After a leisurely breakfast, we’ll visit Edinburgh Castle for a self-guided audio tour, and the rest of the day and evening are at your leisure to explore, shop, visit a pub or three and have dinner. Perhaps a concert at the legendary Whistlebinkies.
Day 3 : Depart Edinburgh and head for Inverness with a stop at Stirling Castle. We’ll also do a photo stop to see the modern sculpture of The Kelpies, massive metallic horses next to the highway. Then we head to a tour and tasting at one of Scotland’s top whisky distilleries, called The Famous Grouse Experience. Onward to Inverness, where we will then check in at our home for two nights, the lovely and historic Royal Highland Hotel. www.royalhighlandhotel.co.uk Perhaps a concert at favorite local venue, Hootananny's.

Day 4: We’ll go to one of the most photographed sites in Scotland, Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness, to tour the castle, then take a boat ride on Loch Ness and try to spot the monster. After lunch on your own in Inverness, we visit the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre, then the nearby Craigh na Dun pre-historic standing stones, inspiration for the stones on the Starz hit series Outlander.
Day 5: Depart Inverness for a scenic excursion down to Glasgow, with a stop at Glenfinnan at the head of Loch Shiel, where we’ll see the poignant monument to the 1745 and final Jacobite Rising led by Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonny Prince Charlie) which effectively ended the clan system in the Scottish Highlands. We’ll also get a view of the railroad viaduct, better known as the track used by the Hogwarts Express taking Harry Potter and his fellow students to school. We’ll stop for a lunch at Fort William and the we’ll head into Glasgow for an early evening arrival at our hotel.
